Dua for sighting Ramadan Moon

Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection and increased devotion to Allah. Muslims strive to strengthen their relationship with God through prayer, reading the Quran, and performing acts of charity and kindness. It is also a time of community and togetherness, as Muslims come together to break their fast and share in the month of blessings.

The dua or supplication for sighting the Ramadan moon is:

“Allahumma ahillahu ‘alaina bil-amni wal-imaani was-salamati wal-Islami wat-tawfiqi li ma tuhibbu wa tarda, Rabbul-‘alameen. Wa salli ‘ala Rasulillah wa ‘ala alihi wa sahbihi wa sallam.

The English translation of this dua is:

“O Allah, let the moon of Ramadan appear over us with safety and faith, with peace and Islam, and with guidance and blessings. O Lord of the worlds, send peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah and his family and companions.”

It is recommended to make this dua when looking for the new moon of Ramadan. May Allah bless us all and accept our fasting during this blessed month.
